This app is designed specifically for use in Miami-Dade County.

CombatCOVID is the official COVID-19 notification and information app of the County Government of Miami-Dade County, Florida. With a population of over a million and a half people, it serves a diverse community.

Unlike other apps, CombatCOVID prioritizes user privacy and identity protection. It does not utilize GPS or location notifications in its architecture, ensuring that no personal information such as names, email addresses, locations, or any other identifying data is required. CombatCOVID does not gather any location or identity information from its users.

The app utilizes Bluetooth signals to determine proximity to other users. If you have been near someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you will receive a push notification recommending immediate testing. The notification does not disclose anyone's personal identity. Additionally, suggested testing locations are provided.

Your device's phone number is encrypted and never shared with anyone, including local health officials. All data and information regarding close proximity to another device are solely stored on your device.

Data indicating a positive COVID-19 test result is only shared if and when the user chooses to disclose it. Even in these cases, total privacy protection is guaranteed.
